Four-Straight for the Black Bears -- Maine is the midst of their longest win streak since the 2019 season as they have grabbed four-straight victories as they were a perfect 3-0 in the month of October and haven't lost a game since Sept. 20.

During the win streak, Maine has outscored their opponents 126-71 or by an average of 13.8 points per game and they haven't allowed more than 350 yards of offense to the opposing team since Sept. 20, two of those games allowing less than 300 yards, a feat the Black Bears have accomplished four times on the season.

Last Time Out -- The Black Bears defeated Elon, 35-14 at homecoming in Orono. The Black Bears fell behind on an early touchdown from the Phoenix before scoring 28 unanswered points over the following two and a half periods. Jake V. Kucera and Gianni Rossitto both scored their first collegiate touchdowns for the first two scores by the Black Bears, before Carter Peevy scored his fifth rushing touchdown of the season. Scott Woods capped off the scoring run by returning a punt 85 yards for a touchdown, the first punt return touchdown for the Black Bears since the 2017 season. After an Elon score, Rashawn Marshall capped off the afternoon with a 61-yard rushing touchdown, the longest of his career and his second touchdown of the season.

PEEVY ENTERING THE ZONE

Carter Peevy is in a stretch of playing his best football over his past four performances he has thrown for 1059 yards and seven touchdowns over the past three games. He has added three rushing touchdowns to that line during that stretch while only having one turnover.

He had a pair of passing touchdowns and added a third score on the ground against N.C. A&T before adding another three passing touchdowns at Bryant, where he threw for a career-best at Maine 338 yards. He added another rushing score at Merrimack, the game-winning touchdown before adding two more passing and one more rushing touchdown against Elon.

Peevy was named to Co-Offensive Player of the Week in the CAA after the N.C. A&T matchup, one of three honors for the Black Bears on the season.

MARSHALL TOPS THE DEPTH CHART

Rashawn Marshall enters week 10 earning his spot atop the Black Bears running back depth chart after having accumulated over 300 yards from scrimmage in the last two games.

He took 22 total touches at Merrimack and turned them into 168 yards, 146 of those being rushing yards, before generating another 159 yards against Elon, 141 of those being rushing yards.

His biggest play of the season came against Elon when he capped off the scoring for Maine with a 61-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter. He was named the CAA Rookie of the Week following his Elon performance.

THOMAS CONTINUES HIS IMPACT

Christian Thomas looks to remain near the top of the CAA as he ranks third with 76 tackles, the 15th most in the NCAA.

He leads the Black Bears in tackles for loss (8.5), is tied for the lead in sacks (3) and leads the team in solo tackles with 36.

He was named the CAA Defensive Player of the Week as he had nine tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack and recovered a fumble.

TOP OF THE DEPTH CHART

Scott Woods and Mo Irefin are the clear #1 and #2 wide receivers on the Black Bears and have both eclipsed 150 yards receiving during the four-game win streak for the Black Bears.

Woods leads Maine with 40 catches and 461 yards, trailed by Irefin's 25 receptions for 290 yards.

During the win streak, Woods has 23 catches for 342 yards and two touchdowns while Irefin has 15 catches for 176 yards.

O-LINE PRESENCE

The Black Bears offensive line is in position to roll out the same crew for the sixth-straight contest, those being: Kocan (LT), Iliano (RT), Cruji (C), Boutaugh (RG) and Stanley (LG).

This group is coming of back-to-back clean sheets as they didn't allow a sack to Merrimack on Oct. 11 or Elon on Oct. 25.

For the season, the offensive line as a whole has only allowed 13 sacks in seven games.

SAFETIES FORCING TAKEAWAYS

The safety group of Devin Vaught, Jake Kucera and Malcolm Folk have been leading the charge over the past five games for the Black Bears as they have forced five takeaways over those games.

Vaught and Folk both forced takeaways as Georgia Southern, highlighted by a pick-6 from Vaught.

Kucera secured his first interception of his career two weeks later at Bryant before Vaught added a second interception to his season against Merrimack and a third against Elon last time out.
