ORONO, Maine – The seventh-ranked University of Maine men's ice hockey team will head to Connecticut this weekend for a pair of non-conference games against #10 Quinnipiac at M&T Bank Arena.

The Black Bears and Bobcats are set to face off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 and at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
Both non-conference tilts will stream on ESPN+, with an international stream available via ECAC Hockey/Stretch Internet, and Friday night's game will also air live on NESN. Additionally, the games can also be listened to via 92.9 FM, 100.5 FM or online at GoBlackBears.com/MIHRadio.

SERIES HISTORY vs QUINNIPIAC
• Maine holds a 12-9-1 edge in the all-time series with Quinnipiac, including a record of 4-4-0 in road games.
• The teams met at Alfond Arena in October 2024, with Maine earning a 2-1 win and a 6-5 overtime victory ... both teams landed in the Allentown Regional for the 2025 NCAA Tournament but didn't meet.
• The first ever meeting in the series came on Dec. 12, 1999, with the Black Bears earning a 7-4 win at the Alfond.
• Nine current Black Bears have at least one career point against the Bobcats with
Brandon Holt (2-4-6) leading the way.

• Quinnipiac is 2-1-0 overall after going 1-1-0 in the Ice Breaker Tournament, falling to Alaska-Fairbanks, 2-1, and topping Notre Dame, 7-2.
• The Bobcats opened up the season with a 4-3 win at then #6 Boston College.
• Quinnipiac has nine different goal scorers through three games, with Ethan Wyttenbach, Antonin Verreault and Chris Pelosi notching two goals each.
• Matej Marinov (1-0-0) and Dylan Silverstein (1-1-0) have both seen time between the pipes.

TWO WINS, TWO SELLOUTS, ONE DEBUT HAT TRICK
• The Black Bears opened the season with a pair of 5-2 and 6-0 wins over Holy Cross at Alfond Arena this past weekend.
• Friday saw
Justin Poirier score a hat trick while Saturday saw two goals from
Josh Nadeau and a 22-save shutout from
Albin Boija.
• Poirer added an assist on Saturday and was named Hockey East Co-Rookie of the Week ... fellow first-year
Jaden Lipinski scored both game winning goals and had a 2-2-4 weekend.
• Poirier's hat trick was the ninth hat trick by a player in their collegiate debut in the last 20 seasons.
•
Brandon Chabrier recorded four assists from the blue line while earning a plus-7 rating.
• Friday and Saturday night also featured two sell-out crowds at Alfond Arena.
