Soccer Hosts Binghamton on Sunday to Begin America East Play

Women’s soccer team returns home on Sunday to open up America East play against Binghamton.

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team returns home on Sunday to open up America East play against Binghamton.

The Black Bears and Bearcats are set to kickoff at 12 p.m. at Mahaney Diamond. The game will stream live on America East TV.
 
The first 100 students at the game will receive a Maine Soccer 2023 America East Championship scarf.

ABOUT MAINE
• Maine enters conference play at 4-1-2 overall on the season … the Black Bears defeated Holy Cross on the road, 1-0, to close out non-conference play last Sunday.
• Jordane Pinette scored her third goal – and third game-winning goal – of the season in the win at Holy Cross and ranks second on the team in points with seven … Lara Kirkby leads Maine with eight points from three goals and two assists … Abby Kraemer, Kristina Kelly and Kayla Kraemer all have six points each.
• Pinette's three game-winners are tied for the most among America East players and rank ninth in the country.
• Maine's four-game unbeaten streak to start the season marked the third consecutive year that the Black Bears went unbeaten in the first four games and the fourth straight year to go unbeaten in the first three games.

ABOUT BINGHAMTON
• The Bearcats enter Sunday's contest at 3-3-2 overall … Binghamton last played on Sunday, topping le Moyne, 2-0, on the road.
• Hannah Mimas leads the team in points (14), goals (5), assists (4) and shots on goal.
• Rebecca Kessler and Kaitlyn Williams have each played 360 minutes in goal … Kessler has a .652 save percentage and 2.00 goals against average while Williams has a 1.00 goals against average and .778 save percentage.
• The Bearcats were the 2023 America East regular season champions, going 5-0-3 in conference play and 6-5-6 overall.
 
SERIES HISTORY vs BINGHAMTON
• Maine holds an all-time record of 6-11-7 against Binghamton.
• The teams met last season in Binghamton, battling to a 2-2 tie.
• The last three meetings between these two teams have been ties.
• The first-ever meeting came back in 2002 with the Black Bears and Bearcats battling to a 0-0 tie.
