ORLANDO, Fla.  – The University of Maine women's soccer team fell to seventh-seeded UCF, 2-0, in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament on Friday night at the UCF Soccer Complex.

Maine nearly broke through a minute into the contest on a Gillian Rover strike. The hosts, though, would find the back of the net in the 21st minute and take that 1-0 lead into the second half.
After the Knights struck again in the 65th minute, the Black Bears kept pushing. Rovers had another chance in the final seconds of the game but the Knights shut the chance down for the 2-0 final.
