Orono, Maine -- Maine returns home for the first time since Nov. 24 to take on in-state foe Bates College at Skip Chappelle Court on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 2 p.m. The contest marks Maine and Bates' first meeting since 1981. Promotional Details:
The Black Bears will join forces with Marden's Surplus and Salvage for a sock drive. Fans are asked to bring socks to the game and distribute them in bins located in the lobby area. Socks collected will go to support local organizations in need.
It's a Bingo Day! The first 400 fans through the gate will receive a Bingo Card. Each card will feature specific in-game occurrences. As occurrences happen throughout the game, fans will mark them off on their cards until we have a winner! Prizes vary with more details available at the marketing table on game day.

Asta Blauenfeldt posted double-digit scoring efforts (17) for the second consecutive game to lead Maine in a 74-48 loss at Saint Joseph's on Monday evening.
Blauenfeldt 6-for-13 from the floor, 3-of-6 from three point range, to go along with two steals and two rebounds in her 17 point night.
Olivia Rockwood added 11 points with three triples.
The Hawks shot a blistering 29-for-48 (60.4) for the game including an 8-of-11 mark in the fourth quarter to close out the victory.
Maine finished the evening 19-of-51 (37.3) with seven triples.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine, coming off a four-game road trip, returns home for the first time in 27 days and looks to snap its current three-game losing skid. The Black Bears are led by
Caroline Bornemann who ranks among the top-10 in the America East in scoring (9th - 11.8), rebounding (4th - 7.4), and tops in the league at 34.5 minutes per game. Bornemann's four double-doubles lead America East in that category as she checks in 34th nationally in the stat. Bornemann, who had notched six double-digit scoring performances this year, stands just 93 point from 1,000 in her career and is 28 rebounds shy of 600. Should she reach both plateau's, she would be come just the 16th player in program history to eclipse both marks.
Sarah Talon, who has registered four double-figure scoring performances on the season, is adding 9.1 points to rank 21st in the league in scoring.
Paula Gallego (3.3) and
Asta Blauenfeldt (2.5) rank third and 13th, respectively, among America East leaders in assists per game. Blauenfeldt has posted back-to-back double-digit scoring outings with 13 points at Purdue and 17 at Saint Joseph's.
Caroline Dotsey has provided Maine with a spark off the bench as she checks in third among team-leaders in scoring at 8.1 points per game. Dotsey is averaging 14.5 points per game over her last four outings. Maine ranks second in the America East in assists (14.0), second in turnovers per game (14.7), all leading to a second-best 0.95 assist/turnover ratio. The Black Bears lead the conference in three-point attempts (25.9 per game), with 7.8 makes from beyond the arc per outing.
A LOOK AT BATES:
 The Bobcats enter play winners of five of their last six after defeating WPI, by a final of 62-50 on Thursday evening. Sarah Hughes paces Bates at 14.8 points per game to go along with 5.1 rebounds and a team-high 52.8 percent clip from the floor, tops in the NESCAC. Elsa Daulerio is adding 14.1 points per game to go along with a team-best 7.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists. Bates ranks second in the NESCAC in scoring at 70.7 points per game and second with a 35.3 percent mark from beyond the arc. The Bobcats' 46.6 mark from the floor is fourth best in the country and tops in the NESCAC.
SERIES WITH BATES:
Maine and Bates square off for the fourth time in history and the first since 1981. The Black Bears and Bobcats met three times from 1975 to 1981. Maine took the first-ever meeting by a final score of 79-42 in 1975 and defeated Bates again in 1980 by a score of 91-41. Maine won the most recent meeting, 106-37, in 1981. Maine is 114-10 all-time against in-state competition.
