BURLINGTON, Vt. --The University of Maine women's swim and dive team scored a relay win and three individual victories in a 178-119 loss at Vermont on Saturday afternoon.
Kennady Hart paced Maine with a pair of sprint victories, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle at 24.08 and the 100-yard freestyle at 52.73.
Laura Dube added Maine's third victory, touching the wall first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:08.67.
Maine's team of Hart,
Mia Poirier,
Hannah Deighan, and Liz Stoelzel won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a combined time of 1:38.70.
Charlotte Hoover,
Eva Welsh,
Isabelle Irani, and Hart placed second in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:50.68.
Welsh posted a trio of runner-up finishing, placing second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.90), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.20), and the 200-yard IM (2:10.82).
Hoover came home third in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.37), the 100-yard butterfly (1:01.24), and the 200-yard IM (2:14.15).
Nicolene Harkins took silver in the 200-yard freestyle (1:58.03) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:13.18).
On the diving board,
Haylie Calver took second in both the 3-meter (234.38) and the 1-meter (247.80) while
Ashley LeClaire posted third place showing in the 3-meter (208.96) and the 1-meter (235.20).
