Notes on the Black BearsÂ
HOME OPENER RECAP:
- The Black Bears were defeated twice by the #10 Quinnipiac Bobcats in their opening weekend, by scores of 0-4 and 0-7.
- Goaltender Julia Bachetti saw both games between the pipes, making a total of 60 saves over the weekend.
- Sophomore forward Raegan Wurm led the team with seven shots on goal, having a career-high of five shots in Friday's game.
- The team successfully killed off 4-of-5 penalty kills, as they sit at 80%.

PREVIOUS MATCHUPS WITH THE FRIARS:
- The Black Bears won two of the three games against the Friars last season, one of them being an overtime win.
- At home, Maine is 8-7-3 when it comes to playing Providence.
- Over the course of last season's three matchups with Providence, Maine's goal scorers included Adriana van de Leest, Alyssa Wruble, Ava Stevenson, and Mira Seregély.
- Jamie Grinder, Sam Morrison (2), Mira Seregély, Elise Morphy (2), Alyssa Wruble, and Adriana van de Leest tallied assists against Providence last year.
- Julia Bachetti saw one game against the Friars last year, where she made 30 saves in the 2-3 loss.

OPENING WEEKEND
- Providence College opened up their 2024-25 season with two games against St. Michael's College, defeating them 8-0 and 6-0.Â
- Sophomore Kiara Kraft scored a hat trick in the 8-0 win, while Audrey Knapp had a five-point weekend, scoring three goals and two assists.
- Goaltenders Taya Currie (4 saves) and Hope Walinski (5 saves) each saw a game. The Friars outshot St. Michael's 51-4 and 51-5.Â
LAST TIME OUT
- The Friars have a quick turnaround as they played Tuesday night, and dropped a 0-1 decision to No. 10 Quinnipiac with under four minutes left in the game. Goaltender Hope Walinski made 33 saves, as the team had 23 shots on goal, and killed four of five penalties.
Looking Ahead
- Maine hits the road to Boston University for their first away trip of the season next weekend, Oct. 18/19. Game times are set for 3:00 p.m. on both days at Agganis Arena.
- Following the series with the Terriers, Maine will round out October with a trip to Hamilton, NY to face the now #6/7 Colgate Raiders for a pair of non-conference games.Â
