Orono, ME - The University of Maine defeated UC Davis on Sunday afternoon, 3-1.
Goal One: Poppy Lambert continued her point streak as she ran it to six-straight games with her fifth goal of the season, this one coming on the penalty corner opportunity. Her goal was set up by a pass from Alexandra Sacker (4) and a stop by Saylor Kuefler (1).
Goal Two: Kate Richardson scored her fourth goal of the season just 25 seconds after the Lambert score as she battled in the circle with a UC Davis defender to come away with the ball and put it in the short side of the net.
Goal Three: Lambert made it a two-goal day as she scored her second of the day on a penalty stroke that she created on a shot opportunity on the penalty corner.
UCÂ Davis scored their lone goal of the game in the 52' minute on a penalty corner.
Notes on the Game:
- Maine out shot UC Davis 19-4.
- Maine generated eight more corners on the afternoon, winning the battle 10-2.
- Poppy Lambert has 56 career goals, which is one shy of tying the program record of 57 set by Kelly Newton.
- Rozárie Mrázová which picked up her eighth win of the season in net as she has allowed one or less goals in eight of her 12 appearances on the season.
