ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's ice hockey team will head to Hamilton, NY, to face the No. 6-ranked Colgate Raiders on Oct. 25/26.

BLACK BEARS' WEEKEND RECAP:

  • Maine was swept by #15 ranked Boston University, by scores of 0-2 and 1-2. 

  • Sam Morrison tallied Maine's lone goal, with Danielle Brunette and Raegan Wurm earning assists.

  • Freshman goaltender Kiia Lahtinen saw her first two starts, making a total of 60 saves on the weekend.

  • The Black Bears' record drops to 1-5-0 (1-3-0 HEA).

PREVIOUS MATCHUP WITH COLGATE:

  • Maine faced the then #4 Colgate for the first time ever, last season at the 'Battle of the Burgh' tournament for one game on Dec. 29, 2023. 

  • Colgate broke Maine's five-game winning streak at the time, as the Raiders won 8-2. 

  • Maine goaltender Julia Bachetti made her career-high of 37 saves against the Raiders. 

SCOUTING #7/6 COLGATE:

  • The Raiders have had a strong start in the rankings as they have been in the top 10 all year, holding a 5-3-0 record this season. 

  • After splitting series with Mercyhurst, Minnesota-Duluth, and RIT, Colgate most recently swept Post University this past weekend. 

  • The team sits at 34.4% on the PP, as they have scored 11 of their 32 goals on the power play.
