Orono, ME - The University of Maine field hockey program picked up the shutout victory over Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon, 2-0.
First Goal: Olivia Geniti netted her team-leading seventh goal of the season as she was the recipient of a heads up play by Zoe Furber (2) who threaded the pass across the circle for the shot by Geniti.
Second Goal: Brynn Dzengelewski made it 2-0 Black Bears late in the fourth quarter as she netted her first goal of the season off of a feed in the circle by Saylor Kuefler (2).
Notes on the Game:
- Maine had a goal overturned in the fourth quarter before Geniti scored her goal just a couple of minutes later.
- Maine outshout Holy Cross 12-6 on the afternoon.
- Corners were tied 6-6.
- Rozárie Mrázová picked up her second solo shutout of the season, fourth shutout of the year for the Black Bears.
Next time out: Maine heads on the road for their next two games as they travel to Bryant on Friday, Oct. 18 and Northeastern on Sunday, Oct. 20.
