Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team fell by a final of 180-120 to New Hampshire in the Border Battle, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, on Friday evening at Wallace Pool.
Kayla Loughman paced Maine with a pair of victories as she swept the breaststroke events with a winning time of 1:05.83 in the 100-yard breaststroke and a first place mark of 2:24.06 in the 200 breaststroke.
Maine swept the podium in the 100 breaststroke with
Aubrey St. Pierre taking the silver at 1:08.15 and
Laura Dube adding a third place finish at 1:08.28. Dube also placed second in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:31.10.
Madison Edwards touched the wall first in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:00.49.
Mia Poirier finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:58.03) and third in the 100 butterfly (1:00.99).
Kennady Kilger came home second in the 50-yard freestyle with a final time of 25.02 and placed third in the 100 free at 54.48.
Marlee Canale added a runner-up showing in the 200 backstroke (2:13.06) and a third place mark in the 200 IM (2:15.15) while
Isabelle Irani was second in the 100 fly at 59.07.
Ashley LeClaire won the 1-meter dive with a score of 265.20 while
Haylie Calver took silver in the 3m at 264.15.
Maine's team of Edwards, Loughman, Irani, and Kilger finished second in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:49.09 while Loughman,
Hannah Deighan,
Carmen Braden and Kilger teamed up to take second in the 200 free relay with a final time of 1:38.67.
