Box Score Orono, ME – The University of Maine baseball beat the Hartford Hawks on Friday afternoon, 6-2.
 
First Inning: Jake Rainess lead off the contest with a solo home run to right field on a 1-0 count to get the Black Bears going in the first inning. The home run was his 10^th of the season.
 
Connor Goodman added on a second run for the Black Bears as he hit a sac fly to left field, scoring Quinn McDaniel (BB/SB).
 
Third Inning: Devin Kellogg hit a sac-fly to center field to score their first run of the inning.
 
Jeremiah Jenkins got the run right back for the Black Bears as he hit a double down the left field line, scoring Quinn McDaniel (1B).
 
Jake Marquez added on another run as he hustled out an infield single to increase the Black Bear lead to 4-1.
 
Sixth Inning: Connor Goodman (1B/SB) scored on a passed ball to increase the Black Bear lead to 5-1.
 
Seventh Inning: Martin Chavarria hit a sac fly to center field to get Hartford their second run of the contest.
 
Luke Rier was called on to begin the seventh inning on the mound for Hartford. Alec Couture allowed 5 runs (4 earned) on 6 hits, 3 walks and striking out 6 across 6 innings of work.
 
Connor Goodman got the Black Bears their sixth run of the day as he singled home Jake Rainess (HBP/SbB2).
 
Eighth Inning: Ryan Scott took over on the mound for the Black Bears to begin the eighth inning. Colin Fitzgerald allowed 2 runs across 7 innings of work. He allowed 9 hits, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.
