LAST TIME OUT:

Durham, N.H. -- Adrianna Smith posted her 14th double-double of the season to help guide Maine to a 56-45 victory at New Hampshire in the Border Battle, presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, on Monday afternoon. The win marked Maine's fifth-straight over the Wildcats.

Smith finished the contest with a game-high 24 points to go along with 14 rebounds, one off her career-high, and three assists. For Smith, it marked the 16th consecutive game in which she's registered double-figure scoring and the 11th time in which she's tallied 20 or more points, including in each of her last four outings.

Olivia Rockwood added 12 points after netting four consecutive triples in the second half while Jaycie Christopher contributed nine points off the bench in the win.

Maine controlled the boards, finishing with 41 rebounds, and hit double-digit triples (10) for the third time this season. The Black Bears finished the day 21-of-61 (34.4) from the field and 4-of-5 at the free throw stripe.

Strong endings to the second and third quarters, with runs of 9-0 and 6-0 respectively, helped propel Maine to its ninth conference win of the season.

A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:

The Black Bears snapped their three-game losing skid, their longest losing skid in conference play since 2012-13, with a 56-45 victory at New Hampshire on Monday afternoon. Adrianna Smith led the way in the win with her conference leading 14th double-double of the season (24 pts/14 rebs). Smith ranks 10th in the nation in double-doubles on the season while leading the America East in scoring (17.3 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 ppg). Smith ranks 39th among the nation's leaders in rebounding and has posted double-digit scoring figures in each of her last 16 outings. In league play, Smith is averaging 23.4 ppg and 10.8 rpg against conference members. Caroline Bornemann has nine double-figure scoring performances, including three double-doubles, on the season and ranks 12th in the league at 5.9 rebounds per game and 22nd in scoring (9.1). Paula Gallego is heating up as she is averaging 8.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 steals over her last three outings. Olivia Rockwood, who ranks fifth in the league with 1.8 triples per game, is coming off a 12 point performance in which she hit four triples. Maine has held six of its last eight opponents to 60 points or fewer.

A LOOK AT UALBANY:

UAlbany, 8-2 on its home court in Troy, N.Y. this season, have won three in a row after most recently defeating UMBC, 74-67, in Baltimore on Wednesday evening. The Great Danes' strength is in their defense where they rank 21st in the nation and second in the conference in scoring defense (55.1) and seventh nationally, tops in the conference, in three point defense (25.3). UAlbany, which ranks sixth in the league in scoring at 58.9 points per game, rank second in America East with a 42.3 percent showing from the floor. Helene Haegerstrand leads UAlbany in scoring, checking in third among conference leaders at 15.0 points per game. Kayla Cooper, who registered a game-high 23 points in Maine's last meeting with UAlbany, is adding 14.7 points and a team-high 7.9 rebounds. Ellen Hahne rounds out the double-digit scorers at 11.8 points with 6.0 rebounds and a team-leading 2.6 assists.

SERIES WITH UALBANY:

Maine and UAlbany will square off for the 52nd time in history. The teams, which have met eight times in the postseason, battled in last year's AE title game with UAlbany coming out on top, 56-47. The win snapped Maine's 11 game win streak over UAlbany as the Black Bears have won 12 of the last 13 meetings. Maine holds a 31-20 edge in the all-time series. Maine is looking to sweep UAlbany in the regular season for the second consecutive season after earning a 50-49 win in Orono back on Jan. 28. In that win, Adrianna Smith led Maine with 22 points and nine rebounds. Maine is 17-13 on the road all-time against UAlbany.
