Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine football team hits the road when it travels to take on Richmond on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 3:30 p.m. Saturday's contest will mark the 30th meeting between the two programs.

- Maine looks for its second consecutive victory when it travels to meet the Spiders in Maine's first trip to Richmond since 2018.
- Maine and Richmond will meet for the 30th time with Richmond holding a slight edge, 15-14, in the all-time series.. Maine is 8-7 on the road against the Spiders. Maine has won in three of its last four trips to Richmond including a 28-9 road victory in its last trip to Robins Stadium in 2018. Richmond has won each of the last two meetings, both coming in Orono, including a 31-21 decision in 2022. Maine's last win at home in the series came in 2014, a 33-20 decision. Maine has won four of the last seven meetings. Maine and Richmond first met in 1984, a 30-13 Spider victory in a contest played at Richmond.
- Maine, which entered its game last week against Stony Brook averaging less than 10 points a game, exploded for 56 points to earn its first win of the season. The 56 points were the most scored by the Black Bears since 2017. Quarterback Derek Robertson threw for a career-high 394 yards and career-best five touchdowns to earn CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors. The five touchdowns were the most throw by a Black Bear since 2018. Maine, which forced three turnovers in the win over Stony Brook, has now forced two or more turnovers in four of its first five games.
- Richmond, 1-2 at home, is coming off a 31-14 loss to Hampton at Robins Stadium. The Spiders fell behind 17-0 at the half and were unable to stage a comeback. Richmond could only muster 260 yards in the game, including just 30 on the ground while going 1-of-11 on third down. The Spiders enter play ranked 12th in the CAA in scoring (19.2 ppg),14th in total offense (284.4), and 15th in third down conversions (21.1). Defensively, Richmond ranks fourth in the CAA as it is allowing 334.8 yards per game.
