Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine softball complex will serve as the host for the 2024 America East Softball Championship and Mahaney Diamond will host the 2025 America East Baseball Championships, it was announced by the America East conference on Oct. 4.
 
Maine, meanwhile, will host the softball championship in 2024 for the first time in nearly 15 years at its recently christened softball complex, which opened in the spring of 2023. The Black Bears last hosted the softball championship in 2010. In 2025 the Black Bears will welcome back the baseball championship after hosting in 2022 and 2018.
 
"We are proud to be selected to host the America East softball championships in 2024 and the America East baseball championships in 2025," Maine Director of Athletics, Jude Killy, says. "Our vision, through the support of the Harold Alfond Foundation, has always been to provide our student-athletes and our state with some of the best facilities in New England. As the state's flagship University, our goal is to host as many events as possible and showcase our wonderful University to our community and peers. I can think of no better way to support that vision than to host these postseason events here in Orono. Our staff looks forward to providing a championship experience for all teams who visit Orono for postseason play in the spring of 2024 and 2025."

"We are excited to bring these championships events to Binghamton and Maine so all America East student-athletes can benefit from that investment."
 
Maine is the reigning America East Baseball Champion after winning the regular season title for a second straight season and claiming its first tournament title since 2011. In 2024, the Black Bears are seeking to be the first program in ten years to repeat as conference champion.

Binghamton University will host the America East Baseball Championship in 2024 and the America East Softball Championship in 2025.
