ORONO, ME - The University of Maine baseball team will play host to the UMass Lowell Riverhawks for a 3-game series on April 22-24.

For the Black Bears, they come into the matchup against UMass Lowell riding a 6-game winning streak, including 5-straight conference wins. Most recently, the Black Bears swept the Great Danes of UAlbany, 3-0.

Maine, who holds a conference best 12-3 record and currently sits at the #1 seed in America East, supplies the most dominate offense in the conference. Leading in batting average (.330), doubles (37), home runs (25) RBI's (133), SLG % (.544) and OB % (.435). The Black Bears also have struck out the fewest times (98) in conference action.

The Black Bears also hold the third best ERA in conference games at a 5.41 mark. The Black Bears pitchers have the third most strikeout at 136, with the Riverhawks (137) and UMBC (138) slightly above them. Maine has also allowed the fewest home runs against (13) in conference games.

The Riverhawks, who after a slow start to the conference schedule have started to find their groove, winning 4 of their last 6 conference games, find themselves with the second best batting average in conference games (.297), third in SLG % (.480) and the second fewest strikeout's (101).

UMass Lowell finds themselves just a few points below the Black Bears in ERA for conference games at 5.48, one strikeout above the Black Bears for the third most strikeouts in conference games (137) and have allowed the third fewest walks (48).

Game 1 is scheduled for Friday, April 22 at 4:00 P.M., game 2 for 1:00 P.M. on Saturday April 23 and game 3 on Sunday, April 24 at Noon.
