Box Score ARLINGTON, VA – The University of Maine baseball team dropped the opening matchup of the weekend against George Washington, 5-2.

Third Inning: Noah Levin got George Washington on the board first in the afternoon matchup as he hit a sac-fly to deep center field, driving in Tim Nicholson. Mike Ludowig followed up his teammate with an RBI single of his own, hitting it to left field and driving in Steve Ditomaso.

Fourth Inning: Maine got into the scoring column as
Jordan Schulefand hit a 0-0 double to start off the inning. Following a steal of third base,
Quinn McDaniel hit a ground ball through the left side of the infield, driving in Schulefand.

Fifth Inning: Noah Levin kept the offense going for George Washington as he hit a no-doubt 2-run homerun to deep right field, driving in Steve Ditomaso.

Eighth Inning: The Black Bears cut into the 4-1 lead by George Washington as
Ryan Turenne hit into an RBI fielder's choice play to drive in
Jordan Schulefand and get the Black Bears to within 2 runs.

George Washington had a quick answer as Cade Fergus hit a solo homerun in the bottom of the 8
th, giving his squad a 5-2 lead.

George Washington would hold onto the lead, taking game one of the weekend set, 5-2.
