Box Score Newton, MA – The University of Maine field hockey team has second longest win-streak in the country snapped at Boston University Tuesday night by a final score of 5-2.
 
Payton Anderson got the scoring going during the second period for the Terriers as she scored her fifth goal of the season on a penalty corner chance. Casey Thompson (7) and Thalia Steenssens (4) picked up the assists.
 
Payton Anderson made it a multi-goal performance in the second quarter as she netted her sixth of the season on the penalty corner chance with just under a minute remaining in the second quarter. Megan Wetzel (1) and Thalia Steenssens (5) picked up the assists on the score.
 
Tess Csejka would get the scoring going in the third quarter for the Terriers as she scored her eighth goal of the season. Thalia Steenssens (6) picked up her third assist of the night.

Maine would get the offense going with 20 seconds remaining in the third quarter as Chloe Walton had a perfect deflection on the penalty corner feed by Poppy Lambert (5). For Walton, the score was her ninth of the season.
 
Poppy Lambert would keep the momentum going for the Black Bears as she scored her seventeenth goal of the season on a penalty corner chance. Madisyn Hartley (15) and Tereza Holubcova (11) picked up the assists on the score.
 
Payton Anderson would score the hat trick as she scored her third of the contest on a penalty corner, her seventh of the season. Casey Thompson (8) and Thalia Steenssens (7 – fourth of the night) picked up the assists on the play.
 
Mia Borley racked up seven saves on 12 shots faced in the contest.
 
Maine (11-4, 5-0 AE) returns to Orono for the final three games to wrap up the 2022 regular season as Vermont leads off the homestand on Friday, Oct. 21. That game is scheduled to begin at 3:00 P.M.
 
The Black Bears would clinch home field advantage for the America East Championship tournament with a win over Vermont.
