ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's ice hockey senior defender Anna Zíková was selected in the third round, No. 14 overall by the Buffalo Beauts in the 2021 National Women's Hockey League Draft on Tuesday, June 29.
 
Zíková, a native of Ceský Tešín, Czech Republic, will join Carly Jackson as the last two Black Bears drafted by Buffalo. The senior finished her Black Bear career with six goals and 19 assists over 63 total games. The newest Beaut brings a wealth of international experience with team Czech Republic to the NWHL.
