Burlington, Vt. -- The University of Maine women's swim team competed in its first America East conference meet of 2021, falling 151-129 at Vermont on Sunday afternoon.
The Black Bears registered four individual victories and a relay win against the Catamounts.
Caroline Strolic had another strong showing for the Black Bears, finding the podium in three individual events. Strolic took the gold in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:25.53 and was the runner-up in the 200 IM at 2:15.80. Strolic also nabbed a third place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a final time of 1:01.05.
In the distance events,
Maggie White led the charge for the Black Bears. White scored a victory in the 1000 freestyle at 10:47.02 and placed second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:22.51.
Aubrey St. Pierre continued her impressive rookie season, adding a victory in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.83 and took third in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall at 2:32.55.
Morgan Bui added a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:31.42 and placed third in the 100 breaststroke at 1:09.35.
Kayla Loughman was Maine's top competitor in the sprint events. Loughman took top honors in the 50 freestyle with a winning time of 25.05 and placed second in the 100 freestyle at 54.22.
Ainslie Boswell registered a third place finish in the 200 IM at 2:19.09.

Sarah Mansfield, and Cam Hargraves won the 200 freestyle relay with a top time of 1:40.96. Strolic, Bui, Mansfield, and Loughman teamed up to place second in the 200 medley relay at 1:50.83, missing out on the top mark by .83.
