Maine falls to Holy Cross, 2-1

Box Score Worcester, Mass. - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team returned to the ice on Friday afternoon, taking on Holy Cross in their 15th straight road contest and falling by a 2-1 final score. 
  • Daria Tereshkina got the Bears on the board with her first goal of the season. Amalie Andersen recorded the assist, her second.
  • The turning point came via a 5-on-3 advantage for Holy Cross midway through the second. After giving up just two power-play goals in 14 games heading into today, Maine gave up two in less than sixty-seconds to lose their briefly enjoyed lead.
  • Loryn Porter made 23 saves on the day, but was outdeuled by Jada Brenon who had 41 saves for the Crusaders.

Maine falls to 7-8 on the season, and will look to claw their way back to .500 tomorrow afternoon in the 4:30 rematch on College Sports Live.
