Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team continues its four-game home swing as it grinds through the non-conference slate, currently boasting the 42nd toughest strength of schedule in the nation. Maine welcomes Dartmouth to the Cross Insurance Center on Sunday at 1 p.m. for the 19th overall meeting between the two teams and the Big Green's first trip to Maine since 2016. Maine has won three-straight at home against Dartmouth.

A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears look to snap a four-game losing skid and earn their first home victory of the season as they return to the Cross Insurance Center. Maine boasts three of the America East's individual leaders in three key statistical categories including scoring (
Anne Simon - 15.9), rebounding (
Maeve Carroll - 9.4), and assists (
Alba Orois - 4.7). Simon, who stands just 204 points away 1,000 for her career, has posted double-digit scoring in eight of Maine's first nine games, and each of the last two. Simon has also been a force on the defensive end as she leads the America East at 2.4 steals per game. Carroll, who had four double-digit rebounding performances this year including each of her last two outings, ranks among the top-10 in the America East in blocks (1st - 1.2); assists (5th - 3.4); field goal percentage (10th - 43.0); and checks in 12th in scoring (11.2). Orois, who has tallied four or more assists in five games this season including nine against Delaware, ranks 13th in the country at 37.4 minutes per game.
A LOOK AT DARTMOUTH:
Dartmouth, which started the season 0-10, recently scored its first win with a 62-39 victory at Texas State on Thursday. In the win, the Big Green featured a balanced scoring attach with 11 players scoring led by Katie Douglas' 11 points. Dartmouth, led by first-year head coach and former Bowdoin College head coach Adrienne Shibles, is led by Mia Curtis who enters averaging 7.2 points. Carrington Washburn is averaging 6.2 points and 3.2 rebounds while Douglas is adding 6.1 points on the year. The Big Green have struggled to score the ball this season, entering ranked 348th in the country in scoring at 46.0 points per game while shooting just 31.1 percent, 343rd in the nation.
SERIES WITH DARTMOUTH:
Maine and Dartmouth will meet for the 19th time in history. The Black Bears own a 13-5 record in the all-time series. Dartmouth took the most recent meeting, scoring a 57-41 win on its home court over Maine on Dec. 10, 2019. Prior to that, Maine had won six in a row in the series including three-straight on its home court. Overall, Maine is 7-2 at home against the Big Green. The two teams last met in Maine on Dec. 10, 2016 a 60-55 victory by the Black Bears. The first meeting in the series took place in 1985, a 67-47 Maine victory.
CHALLENGING THEMSELVES EARLY:
Maine has played the 42nd toughest schedule in the country so far this season. UMass Lowell is the closest America East team in terms of closest schedule, checking in with the 135th toughest schedule in the country thus far - 93 spots lower than the Black Bears.
