PREVIEW: Women's Basketball concludes four-game road trip Sunday at Princeton

Orono, Maine -- Maine looks for its second win over an Ivy League opponent of the season when it completes its current four-game road swing with a trip to Princeton for a Sunday matinee at 1 p.m. The Black Bears are meeting Princeton for the first time since 2006 and look to move their all-time record against the Tigers to 2-0.

Sunday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN+. The game can also be heard worldwide on the Black Bear Sports Network and locally in Maine on 92.9 FM.

LAST TIME OUT:
In a game which featured 18 lead changes and 10 ties, the University of Maine women's basketball team erased a 14-point third quarter deficit, rallying all the way back to force overtime before falling at Army, 87-81, in double overtime.

Four Black Bears posted double-digit scoring totals in the contest, led by Alba Orois' career-high 21 points, seven assists, and five boards. Maeve Carroll packed the stat sheet, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and three blocks while Anne Simon added 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, and a career-high six steals. For Simon, the point total was her sixth time in double-figures in Maine's first six games. Bailey Wilborn, the reigning America East Rookie of the Week, tallied a career-high 14 points off the bench; the freshman's third-straight game in double-digits.

Maine posted one of its best offensive showing in the early part of the season, assisting on 22 of its 35 field goals while finishing the game at 48.6 percent from the field.

A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
The Black Bears feature the America East individual leaders in points per game (Anne Simon - 18.7), rebounding (Maeve Carroll - 9.5), and assists (Alba Orois - 5.2). Simon, the reigning America East Player of the Week, has tallied double-figure scoring efforts in each of Maine's first six games. Simon ranks 21st in the country in total points (112) and 51st in points per game. Defensively, Simon ranks leads the league at 3.0 steals per game after a career-high six steal effort at Army. Maeve Carroll ranks in the top 10 among America East leaders in scoring (8th - 12.2); rebounding (1st - 9.5); assists (2nd - 4.7); and blocks (3rd - 1.3). Alba Orois, who leads the league in assists per game, has tallied four or more assists in four of Maine's first six games, including a career-high nine dimes against Delaware. Orois is coming off a career-high 21 point outing at Army. Bailey Wilborn, the reigning America East Rookie of the Week, has provided Maine with a significant 3-point threat off the bench. Wilborn, who has produced double-digit scoring totals in each of Maine's last three games with four triples in each, ranks second in the league in 3-point field goals made per game (2.5) and seventh in 3-point field goal percentage (35.7). Wilborn tallied a career-high 14 points at Army.

A LOOK AT PRINCETON:
Princeton, selected No. 1 in the Ivy League Preseason Poll, enter at 4-1 on the season after recently earning a 59-41 victory over Temple thanks in part to 12 points and seven rebounds from Julia Cunningham. The Tigers, who had the longest win streak in the NCAA (25) before their loss to Rhode Island earlier this season, have won 20-straight on their home court. Princeton is led in scoring by Abby Meyers (17.0) and Cunningham (15.6). The duo rank first (Cunningham - 6.6) and second (Meyers - 5.8) on the team in rebounding. Princeton checks in 14th best in the nation in scoring defense, limiting opponents to just 48.0 points per game.

SERIES WITH PRINCETON:
Maine and Princeton will meet for just the second time in history, and the first since 2006. Maine is 1-0 against the Tigers, earning a 69-63 victory on Nov. 19, 2006 in the second round of the Minnesota Subway Classic. Maine will be making its first ever appearance at Jadwin Gymnasium. Maine is 39-21 all-time against Ivy League opponents, including earning a 47-44 victory early this season at Yale.

AMERICA EAST PRESEASON POLL:
Maine, which has advanced to six-straight America East title games, was selected second in the America East Preseason Coaches Poll. The Black Bears have captured the America East regular season crown in three of the last four seasons.
