ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's basketball team checked in seventh in the 2025-26 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls, as announced by the WBCA on Tuesday, July 21. The Black Bears finished seventh among NCAA Division I members with a 3.777 cumulative team grade point average.

The Top-25 ranking marks the ninth time in the past 12 seasons in which the Black Bears have earned a spot on the WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll. In four of the past six seasons, the Black Bears have ranked in the top five. Maine led the nation in the 2020-21 WBCA Academic Top 25 with a 3.90 cumulative team grade point average.

The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
