ORONO, Maine -- A pair of win streaks are on the line on Sunday at 1 p.m as the Black Bears, who enter play winners of their last five outings, host Stony Brook, who enter play with the nation's longest win streak at 22-straight at the Cross Insurance Center. In a showdown between the top two teams in the America East standings, the Black Bears enter action 13-4 all-time at home against the Seawolves.
Prior to the game, Maine will honor six student-athletes who will be appearing in their final regular season home game for the Black Bears. The contest also marks Maine's third annual
National Girls and Women in Sports Day Celebration, presented by Bangor Savings Bank.

OVERVIEW:
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Following a 65-44 victory at UAlbany in its latest outing, the Black Bears have now won a season-long five-straight games while moving into second place in the America East standings. Over its current five-game win streak, the Black Bears are averaging 71.2 points per game while limiting the opponent to just 54.6 points, a scoring margin differential of +16.6 during the stretch.
Anne Simon, the six-time America East Rookie of the Week, leads the Black Bears, ranking 10th overall among league leaders at 12.2 points per game. In league play, Simon ranks third best averaging 15.6 points. Simon has posted double-figure scoring efforts in each of her last five outings, seven of her last eight and 13 of her last 15.
Maeve Carroll is nearly averaging a double-double against league competition, ranking fourth in league-only scoring at 15.5 points and tops at 8.7 rebounds. Carroll has posted double-digit scoring in each of her last five games while posting seven double-doubles this season, including six in league play.
Dor Saar ranks 11th overall in scoring at 12.0 points while checking in second-best among league leaders at 4.8 assists per game. Saar, the America East active leader in assists, ranks three assists shy of fifth on Maine's all-time assists list at 384 helpers for her career. Saar has been a threat all season from downtown, ranking second in the league at 2.6 triples made per game and fourth with a 35.1-percent from beyond the arc. Saar leads the nation in minutes player (1,046:10), averaging an impressive 38.75 minutes per game.
The Black Bears have been climbing in the scoring ranks, now checking in third among league leaders at 61.1 points per game. Maine continues to rank among the nation's leaders from beyond the 3-point arc. The Black Bears are 13th in the country in 3-point attempts (637), 24th in 3-point field goals made (206) and 52nd in 3-point field goals made per game (7.6); all tops among America East leaders. Maine's assist to turnover ratio is also a conference best at 1.04. The Black Bears check in second in the conference in assists, averaging 13.7 per game, and also free throw percentage, at 74.6%.
A LOOK AT STONY BROOK:
Stony Brook rolls into Maine riding the nation's longest win streak at 22 in a row. The Seawolves have only lost once this season with their last loss coming back on Nov. 17 at, then No. 23, Arkansas. Stony Brook is led by Kaela Hilaire and India Pagan who rank fifth and sixth in the America East, respectively, at 13.5 points and 13.3 points per game. Cheyenne Clark checks in as the league's leading rebounder at 8.2 boards per game, including a league-best 109 offensive rebounds on the season. Hilaire also leads the America East in assists, handing out 5.0 assists per game while posting the league's second-best assist to turnover ratio (1.9).
Stony Brook has set the tone in the league this season on the defensive end, leading the league by allowing a league-low 54.8 points per game. The Seawolves enter play as the league-leaders in rebounding, averaging 40.2 boards per game including a league-high 14.5 offensive rebounds.
SERIES WITH STONY BROOK:
Maine and Stony Brook have been evenly matched over their 18 year history. Dating back to the first meeting between the two teams in 2001, Maine holds a slim 22-20 advantage in the all-time series. Maine is 3-2 in its last five against the Seawolves. Stony Brook snapped a two-game losing streak to the Black Bears by defeating Maine, 73-69, back on Jan. 5 on Long Island. Maine is 13-4 at home in the series and have won five in a row on its home court as Stony Brook has not been victorious against the Black Bears in Maine since 2014. Overall, Maine has won eight of the last 11 contests with the Seawolves. Saar has posted double-figures in four of her five career outings with Stony Brook.

Anne Simon ranks third among America East leaders in league-only scoring, averaging 15.6 points per game against league competition. Simon has registered double-digit scoring performances in 10 of Maine's 12 league games, besting 20 points on three occasions.

On Feb. 17, it was announced that
Anne Simon had earned her sixth America East Rookie of the Week accolade of the season, and her third in as many weeks. Simon helped stretch Maine's win streak to five-straight as she guided the Black Bears in wins over UMass Lowell at UAlbany during her award winning week. In the pair of victories, Simon averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists while going a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line. Simon, who leads all America East Rookies in scoring (12.2 ppg), has garnered more Rookie of the Week accolades than any other rookie has captured in the America East this season.
