PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The No. 24 ranked Black Bears field hockey team fell on the road to open their 2019 season, as No. 19 Rutgers handed Maine a 3-0 loss despite sophomore goalkeeper Mia Borley's career-high ten saves.

MAINE GAME NOTES AND HIGHLIGHTS:

Borley was the story for the Black Bears, holding Rutgers off the scoreboard in the second half and making 11 saves in total, eight of which came in the second and third quarters. She eclipsed her previous career-high of eight, which she set against Stanford in last year's America East Semifinals.
Rutgers dominated both shots (23-5) and corners (11-4) on the day.
The Scarlet Knights now hold a 4-3 advantage in the all-time series, snapping a three-game Maine winning streak.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

2:18 | Rutgers jumped on the Black Bears early with a Kerrie Burns goal off an assist from Austyn Cuneo.
9:05 | Cuneo got on the other side of the scoring sheet, with another Scarlet Knights' first quarter goal to extend their lead to two.
26:38 | It was Cuneo again, this time in the second quarter to give Rutgers the distance they needed to take the 3-0 victory.
