ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's and women's swim and dive teams will host Holy Cross University of Saturday, November 9.
The Black Bear's women's team is coming off of an America East meet where they lost to Vermont, 160-140. The women's swim and dive compiled 23 top three finishes at the meet. Among the top performers were
Emma Blair,
Rita Chen,
Sabrina Nuttall,
Sarah Mansfield,
Caroline Strolic,
Ines Khiyara,
PhilAnn Dixon and
Morgan Bui, who all came away with first place finishes. Chen, Nuttall and Strolic were able to pick up two first place finishes, while Blair got three to lead the Black Bears at the meet.
On the men's side of swim and dive, they will be competing for the first time since Oct. 26, where they held a solid outing against the University of Dartmouth.
Quintin Cheadle was able to pick up a first place in the 1000-yard freestyle, swimming a 10:08.49.
Andy Sprague picked up a first place in the 50-yard freestyle, doing a 21:38 in the event. On the diving side,
Ben Sturgis finished in first place in the 3-meter dive with a score of 218.33. The Men also finished with 15 top three performances across the events.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
