Box Score YARMOUTH, Maine - The University of Maine women's soccer team lost 1-0 to the Central Connecticut State University Blue Devils on Thursday evening at Yarmouth High School. The Blue Devils scored early in the game and held the lead for the rest of the competition.
 
Central Connecticut scored the first and only goal of the contest. An unmarked Danielle Pearse found the back of net after she received a pass from her teammate, Roma McLaughlin. The Blue Devils benefited from a 3-on-2 rush, while their goal came with 33:09 remaining in the half. The 1-0 lead stood for the entirety of the first half.
 
The second half was a battle of the defenses. Neither side ceded any ground, while both goalkeepers kept a clean sheet. UMaine's best opportunity came when they were rewarded two corner kicks. Nicole Bailey's and Emilie Andersen's attempts were deflected by the Blue Devils' goalkeeper.

Annalena Kriebisch played a perfect final 45 minutes for her squad. With help from her defense, the Black Bears' netminder continued her strong 2018 campaign. CCSU's early goal provided to be the game winner as they defeated the Black Bears 1-0.
 
Shots/Keepers
The Blue Devils held a 6-to-2 advantage in shots on goal, while the Black Bears won the corner kick battle, 5-1.
 
Keeper Kriebisch made five saves in goal for UMaine, while her Central Connecticut counterpart, Ashley Cavanaugh, made two.
