Women's Hockey Hosts Boston University for Hockey East Quarterfinals

ORONO, Maine – Closing out the 2017-18 regular season with a 17-12-5 overall record (11-9-4 WHEA) finishing as the No. 3 seed, the University of Maine Black Bears will play host to the No. 6-seeded Boston University (BU) Terriers (13-15-6, 8-11-5 WHEA) for the Women's Hockey East best-of-three Quarterfinal round of the tournament. Games are set for a 2 p.m. tipoff on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 23-24), and Sunday (Feb. 25) if a tiebreaker is necessary. The University of Maine's Screamin' Black Bear Pep Band will be entertaining the fans at all of the games at the Alfond Arena this weekend.

The Black Bears posted a successful year, sweeping the season series over the Terriers, 3-0-0. Between the three games, Maine gave up five goals to BU's 11 goals as the Black Bears protected their home ice for their first conference win of the season, 4-2, back in October and then trekked down to Boston for a two-game series in January for a pair of wins.
