ORONO, Maine—The University of Maine women's ice hockey heads on the road for another weekend of Hockey East action, facing off against Providence College on Friday night before playing at UConn on Saturday afternoon.

About the Black Bears
• Maine split another home conference weekend, falling against Merrimack 5-1 at a neutral site game in Falmouth, ME before coming back to Orono, taking an 8-0 win over Holy Cross.
• With Sunday's 8-0 win over Holy Cross, the Black Bears have now had three games won by that final score.
• Freshman Celine Tedenby is representing the Black Bears on an international stage—she joins Team Sweden in the Four Nations Cup this week in Saskatchewan.
• Maine received votes in both the USCHO poll and USA Today/USA Hockey polls this week and have received votes or been nationally ranked every week this season.

About Providence College
•  The Friars snapped Boston College's eight game winning streak with a 4-2 home victory on Saturday.
• Christina Putigna earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors for her three point (2 G, 1 A) game against the Eagles last week.
• Maureen Murphy leads Providence's offense this season. In eight games, Murphy has eight goals and 14 points. She leads WHEA in points per game and is No. 2 in the nation in goal scoring and has two shorthanded goals this year.
• The Friars No. 2 scorer, Sara Hjalmarsson is also representing Sweden in the Four Nations Cup.
• Goaltender Madison Myers has put up strong numbers to open the season, going 5-1-0 overall with a 1.17 GAA and .929 save percentage. Her goals against is fourth-best in the nation, while her save percentage is fifth-best.
• In conference, Myers is 3-1-0 with a 1.01 GAA and .957 save percentage. She's also posted both of her shutouts this season against WHEA foes.
• Providence is one spot head of Maine in the Hockey East standings in fourth, holding a 3-1-0 record. The Friars received votes in both the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey polls this week.

The Series with the Friars
• Friday night's game between Merrimack and Maine is the 59th all-time meeting between the two Hockey East squads with Maine's all-time record at 8-44-11overall.
• Last season Maine went 0-1-2, with all three games going to overtime. The last time Maine played at Schneider Arena, the Black Bears fell 2-1 in extra time.
• These two teams first met on Nov. 28, 1999 in Providence with Maine falling 6-0.

 About the University of Connecticut
• UConn fell in its last contest on Nov. 1, losing to Boston College 3-0 in Chestnut Hill. The Huskies will host Boston University Friday night before welcoming the Black Bears on Saturday.
• The Huskies power play has been lethal this season, hosting the No. 1 player advantage in the nation, converting at 27.5% or 11 of 40 chances.
• Connecticut's overall offense is No. 3 in Hockey East, scoring 32 goals in 10 games, for a 3.20 goals per game average.
• Natalie Snodgrass leads the team in points through ten games with two goals and 11 points. Morgan Waback leads the Huskies goal scoring with six goals and 10 points.
• Junior goaltender Morgan Fisher has taken the majority of UConn's starts this season. In eight apperances, she's gone 4-3-1 with a 1.99 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.
• UConn is sixth in WHEA standings, holding a 2-3-1 conference record and 5-4-1 overall record.

The Series with the Huskies
• Saturday's matchup with the Huskies is the 55th overall meeting between these two teams, with Maine sitting at 16-32-7 in the all-time series.
• Last season Maine went 1-2-0 against UConn, with two games going to overtime. The Black Bears took both a win and loss in those overtime contests.
• The last time the Black Bears traveled to Freitas Ice Forum, they were shut out 4-0 by the Huskies.

Last Time Out
• The Black Bears split last weekend's Hockey East play at home, falling in the game against Merrimack 5-1 in Falmouth before defeating Holy Cross 8-0.
• Ali Beltz had a four point weekend, with a goal against Merrimack and three assists against Holy Cross.
• Cailey Hutchison and Lydia Murray both scored two goals in the Hockey East contest against the Crusaders.
• The Black Bears scored five goals in the first period against Holy Cross—the second time this season that Maine has scored five in a period.

On the Leaderboard
• Maine is second in the nation in average goal scoring, posting 3.80 goals per game after tallying 38 goals in 10 games. Their prolific offense is tops in Hockey East and No. 4 in the nation.
• The Black Bears defense is also on the leaderboards, holding opponents to 1.70 goals per game, good for eighth-best nationally.
• On the power play, Mane has converted 19 percent of opportunities, or 7 of 37 chances, good for the No. 15 power play in the country.
• Tereza Vanisova is No. 4 in the conference in goal scoring with seven tallies so far this season.
• Alyson Matteau is tied for fifth in the conference on the assists leaderboard with seven helpers in ten games.
• Ida Press is tied for third in scoring by defenders with one goal and seven assists this year.
• Loryn Porter stands amongst the best in the goaltending category—she's ranked No. 5 overall in national goaltending, alongside the fifth-best national goals against at 1.17 GAA.

Conference
• Hockey East proves to be as tight as ever in 2018, as only four points separate the second and fifth place teams.
• First place Northeastern is still undefeated in conference play, holding a 7-0-1 record. Boston College still holds second place after being handed its first loss of the season last weekend, and is now 5-1-0.
• Maine is currently tied for fourth in WHEA standings with Providence. The Black Bears have a 3-3-0 conference record, good for six points.
