Julie Brosseau recently returned home from the Ivory Coast after leading Team Quebec to a Silver medal in the Jeux de la Francophonie.
The Jeux de la Francophonie is a competition held every four years for French speaking countries throughout the world. The first edition of the Jeux de la Francophonie was held in 1989. This year, the eighth time the event has been held, 53 countries were represented with over 2,500 athletes competing.
Brosseau had a tremendous showing at the tournament, earning the right to represent Quebec as its flag bearer for the closing ceremonies. She led the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points per game, including an 18-point showing in the finals. Although it came up short against France, Quebec earned its first ever medal at the games with a runner-up, Silver medal showing.
