Box Score VESTAL, N.Y. -- Alyssa Derrick drove in a pair and Erin Bogdanovich tossed a complete game with eight strikeouts as the University of Maine softball team defeated UAlbany, 2-0, to force game two in the America East Championship.

Derrick finished the game 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBI. Derrick's home run was her 15th of the season, tying her with Sara Jewett ('00) for the UMaine single season record. Rachel Carlson added a pair of hits and scored a run for the Black Bears.

Bogdanovich came up huge in multiple innings, working out of some big jams as UAlbany left 10 runners. Bogdanovich, who scattered seven hits, walked only two while striking out eight.

Derrick broke the scoreless tie with her America East leading 15^th home run of the season, a solo laser over the left field wall.
 
Maine added to its lead in the bottom of the fifth when Derrick drove in her second run of the game. Carlson reached on an error to start the inning before advancing to second on Meghan Royle's single to left. A sacrifice fly moved Carlson to third before Derrick dropped a single into left, playing Carlson and giving Maine a 2-0 lead.
 
The Black Bears again faced potential trouble when UAlbany put runners on second and third with one out in the sixth. However, Bogdanovich settled in, getting pinch hitter Mackenzie Cleary swinging before forcing a flyout to end the inning with no harm done.

Bogdanovich struck out the first two hitters of the seventh before Liz Snow doubled down the line in left. However, a pop foul to Derrick ended the frame, giving Maine a 2-0 win.
