ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swimming and diving team was defeated by visiting New Hampshire, 166-104, on Friday evening at the Stanley M. Wallace pool.
Juliana McDonald and
Megan McGillivray each picked up individual wins for the Black Bears.
McDonald touched the wall first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.65) and placed third in the 100-yard free (59.10). McGillivray captured a trio of top-3 finishes, highlighted by a win in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:18.71. McGillivray was second in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:09.17 and third in the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.47).
Victoria Kingston also had a strong showing for Maine, placing second in the 200-yard fly (2:12.16) and third in the 100-yard fly (59.10).
The team of
Emily Borger, McDonald,
Rita Chen and
Emma Blair took home first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a final time of 1:30.20.
McGillivray,
Sabrina Nuttall,
Emma Pontius and McDonald teamed up to take second place in the 200-yard medley relay, placing with a time of 1:49.62
Maine returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Providence on Senior Day beginning at 11 a.m.
