ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's swimming and diving team defeated visiting Providence, 170-121, on Senior Day at the Stanley M. Wallace pool on Saturday afternoon.
The Black Bears swept the relay events and added nine individual first place finishes in the victory.
Shayla-Rose Kleisinger was dominant in the distance events for Maine. Kleisinger won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:55.14) and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:20.07) while adding a win in the 200-yard IM at 2:15.45.
Victoria Kingston won both the 100-yard fly (59.30) and the 200-yard fly (2:12.57) while
Juliana McDonald swept the freestyle sprint events. McDonald touched the wall first in the 50-yard free at 24.83 and placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 59.30.
Emma Blackdeer picked up a win and a runner-up finish in the breaststroke events. Blackdeer was first to touch the wall in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:29.91) and placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.32).
Sabrina Nuttall won the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:08.38 and was the runner-up to Blackdeer in the 200 event at 2:32.58.
Emma Blair added and individual victory in the 100-yard backstroke with a final time of 1:00.87.
In the relays, Blair, Nuttall, Kingston and McDonald teamed up for a first place finish in the 200-yard medley at 1:49.35.
The team of

Tessa Lindsley, McDonald and Blair took home first place honors in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:39.46).
Maine is back in action on Saturday, Feb. 4 when it travels to Clark University to take part in the Cougar Invitational.
