Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine football team (3-3, 2-1 CAA) goes for its fourth-straight win when it travels to take on Rhode Island (1-6, 0-4 CAA) on Saturday, Oct. 22 at noon!
GAME NOTES
STORYLINES:
- Maine (3-3, 2-1 CAA) looks to extend its winning streak to four games when it meets Rhode Island (1-6, 0-4) for the 95th time on Saturday.
- The Black Bears picked up their first win over a ranked opponent since 2014 when they knocked off No. 17 UAlbany last weekend, 20-16. Maine racked up a season-high 467-yards of offense, including a season-best 187 on the ground, in its first-ever home win over UAlbany. A win for Maine at Rhode Island would give Maine its first four-game win streak since 2013.
- Maine and Rhode Island are meeting for the 95th time in history. The Black Bears own a 57-34-3 advantage, including wins in the last nine meetings and 14 of the last 15. Maine is 20-15-1 all-time at Meade Stadium and have won its last four trips to URI. Maine is outscoring URI 130-37 in the last four games.
- The Rams began the year with four-straight losses before picking up their first win of the season, 28-13, over Brown. Rhode Island has been held to single-digits in four of its seven games.
- Maine will look to get its rushing offense rolling against Rhode Island which ranks last in the CAA in rush defense, allowing 220.7 yards per game and are allowing a league-worst 34.6 points per game.
