DELAND, Fla. – The University of Maine softball team closed out the Hatter Classic on Sunday morning, falling to Stetson at Patricia Wilson Field.

How it Happened

The teams played a scoreless first three innings before Maine took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
Madison Hand's double put her in scoring position and the very next batter, Eviana Robles drove in the first run … three batters later, Robles came home on a wild pitch.
The Hatters pulled one run back in the home half of the fourth on an RBI double to shallow center.
Stetson then erupted for six runs on seven hits in the fifth inning for a 7-2 lead through five ... the Hatters pushed two more across in the sixth for the 9-2 final.

Game Notes

Annika Shearer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Maine with two hits.
Francesca Guerrera was 1-for-3 with a double while Madison Hand was 1-for-2 with a double and one run scored.
Eviana Robles had one hit, one RBI and one run scored while Keira Inman and Neve Adams also registered hits.
