COLUMBIA, Missouri -- The University of Maine women's cross country program finished in 12th place at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday morning. Maine finished with 322 points.

Megan Randall finished as Maine's top finisher with a time of 21:10.3 and finished in 20th place overall. Helen Shearer finished 2nd for Maine and 29th overall with a time of 21:29.1. Veselja Treacy finished in 3rd for Maine and 99th overall with a time of 22:16.2.

The Black Bears battled through the heat and despite the heat, they performed very well.

Maine returns to action on Oct 10 at the New England Cross Country Championships.
