BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The University of Maine women's cross country program competed in the Maine State Meet on Saturday September 20. the Black Bears finished with a score of 44.
Lila Garbett finished as the overall winner of the Women's 6k event with a final time of 21:42.09. Garbett worked her way to the top all the way from 17th place with about 1200m to go in the race to capture the first place finish.
Ruby Krasnow finished in 3rd place as Maine's second finisher with a time of 21:50.32. Krasnow was in the fight for the lead for most of the race.
The Black Bears return to action on Friday September 26 in the Gans Creek Classic hosted by the University of Missouri.
