ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's cross country program has swept the America East weekly awards, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.

Megan Randall captured the America East Performer of the Week award for the second time this season, with her first award coming back on Sept. 2. Randall finished with the top 6k time in the conference and placed top 20 overall at the Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 26. Randall completed the 6k course in time of 21:10.3 at a 5:40.7 mile pace.Â
Zara Darkin captured her first America East weekly award of her career after being named the America East Freshman of the Week. Darkin competed in the Gans Creek Classic on Sept. 26 and ran a personal best of 22:58 in the 6k race over the weekend, running at a 6:09.7 mile pace.Â
The Black Bears return to action on Oct 10 when they compete in the New England Cross Country Championships.
