ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team will host Boston University in a non-conference match at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 24 at Mahaney Diamond.
 
The tilt with the Terriers will stream live on America East TV.
 
The first 100 fans at the game will receive a Maine Women's Soccer 2024 America East Championship scarf and a post-game autograph session with the team.

ABOUT MAINE
• The Black Bears fell in the season opener, 2-0, to Rhode Island this past Sunday … transfers Meghan Bernetti and Hilary Washington made their Maine debuts while Amelia Ames, Teagan Atherley, Grace Johnson, Audrey Palmer and Lea Schroder made their collegiate debuts.
• Maine went 13-2-3 overall in 2024 en route to the program's second consecutive America East tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth … 17 student-athletes from the 2024 squad have returned for Maine in 2025.
• Maine lost four of the top five scorers from the 2024 squad but returns Jordane Pinette, who had 15 points on six goals and three assists in earning America East All-Conference Second Team honors … the forward's six game-winning goals tied for seventh overall in the nation.
• Pinette, goalkeeper Grace Wilson and defender Rebecca Grisdale were all named to the America East Preseason All-Conference Team … the Black Bears led the conference with four first place votes and were picked to finish third … additionally, Maine's three selections to the preseason all-conference squad tied for the league lead.
 
ABOUT BOSTON UNIVERSITY
• Boston University sits at 1-1-0 on the year after being edged by Fairfield, 2-1, on Thursday night.
• The Terriers beat New Hampshire, 3-0, on Aug. 17 … BU's season-opening game at Northeastern on Aug. 14 was canceled midway through the first half due to inclement weather.
• BU was picked to finish first in the Patriot League preseason poll, earning eight of a possible 10 first-place votes … the Terriers also swept the preseason major awards (Offensive Player of the Year, Midfielder of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year).
• The Terriers won the 2024 Patriot League tournament title and have returned 23 players from that squad.
 
SERIES HISTORY vs BOSTON UNIVERSITY
• Maine sits at 4-16-4 in the all-time series with Boston University.
• These two teams last met on Sept. 7, 2023 in Boston, with the Black Bears picking up a 2-1 win … seven current Black Bears played in that contest, with Julie Lossius logging an assist.
• The first-ever meeting in the series was a 4-2 Maine win in 1995 … as former America East rivals, the teams played every year from 1995 to 2012.
• Boston University has not visited Orono since Oct. 2, 2011 ... the Terriers pulled out a 2-1 win.
