Athens, OH – The University of Maine basketball team was defeated at Ohio on Wednesday night, 79-57.

After a close battle through the opening eight minutes, Ohio was able to string together a 9-0 run to make it 23-12 with just under seven minutes to go in the opening half.

Ohio maintained their double-digit lead as they went into halftime up 15 at 38-23.

Logan Carey had six points and a pair of rebounds in the first half.

Amare Allen had five points off the bench in five minutes of action.

Ohio maintained their double-digit lead through the second half, ultimately coming away with the victory, 79-57.

- Keelan Steele had a team-high 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting.
- Carey made it three-straight games with double-digit scoring as he had 10 points on 50% shooting from the field.
- Maine forced 11 turnovers and held Ohio to 46.5% shooting from the field.
