Maine closes out non-conference play at Holy Cross

The women’s soccer team will travel to Holy Cross on Sunday for the final non-conference matchup of the regular season.

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team will travel to Holy Cross on Sunday for the final non-conference game of the regular season.
 
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium in Worcester, Mass. The game will stream live on ESPN+.

ABOUT MAINE
• Maine enters Sunday at 3-1-2 overall on the season.
• The Black Bears last played on Sept. 8, picking up a 4-1 win over Stonehill at home … Kristina Kelly had one goal and two assists while Kayla Kraemer scored twice to lead Maine with their first career four-point games.
Lara Kirkby leads Maine with seven points from three goals and one assist … Abby Kraemer has a team-leading four assists and one goal for six points while Kayla Kraemer has two goals and two assists for six points.
• Maine has picked up wins over Le Moyne and Rhode Island while tying Syracuse and Merrimack ... Maine's four-game unbeaten streak to start the season marked the third consecutive year that the Black Bears went unbeaten in the first four games and the fourth straight year to go unbeaten in the first three games.

ABOUT HOLY CROSS
• The Crusaders earned a 1-0 win over UAlbany on Thursday night to move to 3-5-0 overall on the year.
• Charlotte Hanchar leads Holy Cross with two goals for four points … six other Crusaders have scored a goal.
• Goalkeepers Olivia Dubin and Julia Walsh have both seen time with Walsh starting six games and going 3-3-0 with a .83 goals against average and .821 save percentage.
 
SERIES HISTORY vs HOLY CROSS
• Maine is 9-8-1 all-time against Holy Cross ... the Black Bears currently have a five-game unbeaten streak against the Crusaders.
• The teams met last season in Orono, battling to a 1-1 tie … Elle Vermilya scored with 11 seconds remaining to earn the tie for Maine.
• The first-ever meeting between these two teams came in the 1994 season, with Holy Cross picking up a 3-1 victory.
