ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's ice hockey team announced its schedule for the 2024-25 season on Friday. The 34-game regular season slate includes 19 games at Alfond Arena, a 24-game Hockey East schedule and a return to the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.
 
The Black Bears will kick things off at home on Saturday, Oct. 5 against AIC. After an exhibition game against Army on Oct. 12, Maine wraps up the season-opening home stand with two games versus Quinnipiac (Oct. 18-19).
 
Maine opens Hockey East play with a pair of games at Northeastern (Oct. 25-26) before returning home to host Merrimack at the Alfond (Nov. 1-2). The Black Bears will travel to Boston College for two games against the 2024 National Runner-up Eagles (Nov. 8-9) and then host Boston University the following weekend (Nov. 15-16). The Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle with rival New Hampshire renews on Nov. 22 at New Hampshire. After a trip to RPI (Nov. 30 and Dec. 1), Maine will close out the first semester at home against Stonehill (Dec. 7-8).
 
To start the second half, Maine will host Bentley in Portland on Dec. 29 before a pair of games at Alfond Arena against 2024 National Champion Denver (Jan. 3-4).
 
It's then Hockey East play for the remainder of the regular season. A trip to UMass Lowell (Jan. 10-11) precedes a home stand with games against UConn (Jan. 17-18), Northeastern (Jan. 31) and UMass (Feb. 2). After a series at Providence (Feb. 7-8), the Border Battle takes the Alfond Arena ice on Feb. 14 and 15.
 
Maine will play a single game at UConn (Feb. 22) before the final home series of the regular season against Vermont (Feb. 28 and March 1). A two-game series at UMass (March 7-8) closes out the regular season.
 
The first round of the Hockey East Tournament is slated for March 12 and the quarterfinal round for March 15, both at campus sites. The 2025 Hockey East Championship weekend will take place March 20-21 at TD Garden in Boston.
