Baseball Falls at Dartmouth

Jenkins Makes America East History with Back-to-Back 20+ Home Run Seasons

Hanover, NH - The University of Maine baseball team was defeated by Dartmouth on Tuesday evening.

First Pitch: 3 P.M. (18-11 Dartmouth)

First Inning: Dartmouth got out to an early 3-0 lead in the opening frame.

Second Inning: Maine scored five runs in the frame on three home runs.

Dean O'Neill and Zach Martin got it started with back-to-back solo home runs to begin the frame, both of which went to left field. The home runs were their fifth and third home runs of the season, respectively.

Jeremiah Jenkins capped off the scoring in the frame as he hit a three-run home run to right field, his 20th of the season, scoring Jonathan Gonzalez (1B) and Logan Burrill (2B).

On his 20th home run, Jenkins became the first player in the history of the America East to have back-to-back 20+ home run seasons (21 in 2023).

Jason Krieger began the frame on the mound for Maine. Blaine Cockburn allowed 3 runs on 3 hits and two hit batters in his 1 inning of work.

Third Inning: Colin Plante picked up an RBI on an infield single as he brought home O'Neill (1B) on the play.

Fourth Inning: Colton Carson made his return from injury to pitch the fourth inning.
