Lexington, Va. -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team notched five top-8 finishes on day three of the America East Championships, hosted by the Virginia Military Institute. The Black Bears stand in sixth place with 271 points after three days of competition.
Kayla Loughman had the top finish of the day for the Black Bears as she placed fourth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:03.48.
Aubrey St. Pierre added a seventh place finish in the event at 1:04.89.
Mia Poirier finished fifth in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall at 1:52.10.
Lindsay Mathews scored in the 400 IM, coming home eighth with a time of 4:36.17.
Isabelle Irani added an eighth place showing in the 100-yard butterfly at 57.67.
Madison Edwards, Loughman, Irani, and Poirier teamed up to take sixth in the 400-yard medley relay with a combined time of 3:50.03.
