Women's Swimming and Diving

Women's Swim & Dive fifth after two days at AE Championships

Lexington, Va. -- The University of Maine women's swimming & diving team stands in fifth place with 149 points after two days of competition at the America East Swimming & Diving Championships, hosted by the Virginia Military Institute.

Ashley LeClaire had the top finish on the day for Maine, taking fifth in the 3m dive with a score of 257.25. Haylie Calver turned in a ninth place finish in the event at 214.40 while Maddie Ruppert placed 11th on the boards at 209.10.

Kennady Hart took sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with a final time of 23.63. Hannah Deighan placed 12th in the event, touching the wall at 23.83 in the B-final and was followed closely by Kayla Loughman who placed 13th at 23.84.

Maine's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Loughman, Hart, Deighan, and Mia Poirier took fifth with a final time of 1:33.87.
