Lexington, Va. -- The University of Maine women's swim & diving team sit iin sixth place after tallying 75 points on day one of competition at the America East Championships, hosted by the Virginia Military Institute.

Maine's team of Mia Poirier, Carmen Braden, Hannah Deighan, and Ainslie Boswell placed fifth in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a final time of 7:34.71.

Madison Edwards, Kayla Loughman, Isabelle Irani, and Kennady Hart finished sixth in the 200 yard medley relay at 1:44.45.

Haylie Calver led Maine in the 1m diving event, placing eighth with a score of 215.10.
