NORTHFIELD, Vt. -- The University of Maine men's swimming & diving team posted 13 individual victories and two relay wins in a 228-59 triumph at Norwich University on Saturday afternoon.
Cam Watelet earned gold in two events, winning both the 50-yard backstroke (23.69) and the 100-yard backstroke (52.49).
Calvin Comeau also earned two wins as he touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (52.43) and the 50-yard fly (23.99).
Finn Devers won the 500-yard freestyle at 4:58.08 and the 100-yard IM with a time of 54.89.
Joey Stauss won the 100-yard breaststroke at 59.49 and tied for first with teammate
Noah Machristie in the 200-yard freestyle, each touching the wall at 1:45.72. Machristie also won the 100-yard freestyle (48.85) and was the runner-up in the 100-yard IM (55.32).
Kaden Kilger was strong in the 1000-yard freestyle, winning the event at 10:13.54 before taking second in the 100-yard freestyle (49.20).
Nate Teerlinck captured gold in the 50-yard breaststroke with a mark of 27.01 and placed second in the 100-yard breaststroke at 59.59.
Jon Bird posted a pair of runner-up showings, taking silver in both the 100-yard butterfly (54.40) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:00.75).
On the diving boards,
DJ Mulligan won the 1-meter with a score of 241.72 while
Jeremiah Small took gold on the 3-meter board at 151.36.
Maine's 200-yard medley relay team of
Matthew Bendoraitis, Teerlinck,
Derek Whyte, and
Julian LaPietra won the event with a time of 1:36.89.
Kilger,
Donovan Durand,
Connor Peaden, and Comeau took gold in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:29.22.
