Women's Swimming and Diving

Welsh finishes first as Maine concludes URI Invite

Kingston, RI - The University of Maine women's swim team competed in the fourth and final day of the University of Rhode Island Invite on Sunday Nov 24.

The women's team finished in fourth place with a total of 478 points.

Nicolene Harkins finished third in the 1650 Yard Freestyle with a time of 17:30.35. Carmen Braden also competed in this event and finished sixth with a time of 17:48.99.

In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Kennady Hart finished 3rd with a time of 51.72. Mia Poirier finished first in her heat with a time of 52.65.

Eva Welsh finished in first place in her heat during the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:23.22. Ainslie Boswell finished in second behind Walsh with a time of 2:23.73.

Maine will compete in the final meet of the 2024 year when they compete in the Maine State Meet hosted by Colby College on Dec 6 and Dec 7.
