Sarah Talon's 19 points paced Maine to a 57-53 road win at Rhode Island on Wednesday evening.

In a game which featured 10 lead changes and nine ties, the Black Bears were able to outscore Rhode Island 14-7 in the fourth quarter to close out the victory.

Maine, which finished the game with just eight turnovers, went 24-of-54 (44.4) from the floor including a 6-of-12 showing over the final 10 minutes of play.

Talon guided the way with a season-high 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting to go along with three rebounds and a pair of steals.
Paula Gallego added 14 points and four rebounds while
Caroline Bornemann chipped in nine points, five rebounds, and five assists.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine is off to a 2-1 start and looking to start the season 3-1 for the second consecutive year. The Black Bears have won 12 of their last 13 home games as the saw their 12 game home win streak snap last time out with a 56-52 loss to Penn. Maine enters action with the America East's sixth best scoring offense (58.0 ppg) and fourth best scoring defense allowing 53.3 points per game. Continuing a trend from last year, the Black Bears have shown great ball control as they rank first in the conference with 15.0 turnovers per game and rank second in the league in three-point attempts per game (26.3), hitting 29.1 percent from downtown.
Paula Gallego leads Maine in scoring (15.7), with double-figure scoring in each of the first three games.
Caroline Bornemann is averaging a double-double on the year with 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds on the year.
Sarah Talon is adding 13.7 points with 18 points in the opener and 19 in Maine's most recent outing.
A LOOK AT HARVARD:
The Crimson enter action 3-1 on the season with wins over No. 25 Indiana and, most recently, a 78-70 victory over Boston College. In the win over the Eagles, Harmoni Turner broke the Harvard program record for single-game scoring with a 41-point effort to go along with 10 rebounds. Turner leads the Ivy League, and ranks 26th nationally, in scoring at 21.8 points per game. Harvard leads the Ivy in steals per game (12.5), blocks per game (4.3), and turnovers forced (23.0).
SERIES WITH HARVARD:
Maine and Harvard will meet for the 20th time and the third in as many years. Maine holds an 11-8 all-time mark over the Crimson. Harvard has won two of the last three meetings but the Black Bears captured last year's meeting, 79-61 in Orono. In last season's meeting, Maine featured four double-digit scorers with current Black Bears Bornemann (16) and Christopher (13) adding to the double-digit scorers. Maine and Harvard's first-ever meeting came in 1984, an 86-56 Black Bear win. Maine is 7-3 all-time at home against Harvard.
